While working on fixing some things in Dualis I decided to try to add some CompactFlash emulation capability to DeSmuME. After some code massaging I got file reading working, as can be seen in the screenshot below from the CF version of DSLua. I have supplied the code to the people responsible for DeSmuME so this functionality should be available in future versions.
I was tinkering with my GBA emulator today for a change, trying to incorporate some of the fixes that I’ve done to Dualis over the past couple of months. It’s not ready for another release just yet, but it’s progressing slowly..

After messing about with my FAT emulation code for a while I got file creation/writing kind of working, as can be seen in the below screenshot. The image seen in the emulator window is written to the disk as a .bin file and then converted to a .png.
For some reason the red text becomes blue, but other than that it appears to be working fine.
After fixing a bug in the emulation of the BIOS division function, a few demos that had previously been acting weird started working.
