Gameboy…on DS…on PC

Having nothing better to do (*cough*) I decided to port my as of yet unreleased Gameboy emulator to the DS. Bar a few silly typos, it proved to be quite a simple process, although it’s in need of a lot of optimization.

Of course it’s not quite the same feeling as running a GB emulator in a GBA emulator in a DS emulator on a PC.. :T

ARMwrestler update

I’ve released a new version of my ARM (and Thumb) instruction tester. This version adds a few LDM/STM tests on the ARM side. The archive now also includes an .nds for those emulators that doesn’t run .bin files. The reason for Desmume 0.3.3 not being able to run ARMwrestler is - to my understanding - that it doesn’t emulate the framebuffer mode yet. Of Dualis (20.1) and iDeaS (1.008) neither of them passes all the tests.

You can find the .zip here. (source included)

Speed improvements

Thanks to the guys over at <insert major videogame company> and their (ab)use of hardware timer interrupts, some of the E3 2005 demos were getting rather sluggish performance in Dualis. Naturally, I could not let this stand! So I rethought my method of keeping the two CPUs of the DS in sync, and managed to get quite a nice boost for a couple of demos (click the images to view in full size).
